Well, February has turned out to be a bit of a hectic month so far.

Intrusion. I really love this club. A car full of us including paul_sticks , Tarl, Rae and Mikey drove up there, and we had a hell of a night. The music was, as ever, really good, and the company equally so. Its one of the few nights where I dance almost constantly, despite the lack of alcohol due to driving.

Salvation. (Feb 13th). Turns out that we are 6 months old now, and none of us had noticed. This was our busiest event to date, with loads of people turning up. And also my most stressful. Timing was tight, and I wasn't sure if there was going to be kit there when we arrived, whether it would be set up, etc, so it was nice that everything ran smoothly. Thanks to everybody who came and made it a sucess, especially our guest DJ Angelus. It was especially nice to see so many new faces there. In between DJ'ing, thanking people for coming, and general chaos, I didn't actually get chance to spend much time socialising, but it was fun none the less. Lets hope that even more people can come along to the next one, and make it an even bigger success. We have some really good guest DJ's lined up, and just need to sort out the dates for them. Starting in March with Alex from Church of madness.

Saturday, my good self and Rae piled in the car for the ride down to Colchester to go to Vendetta. We met up with Jamie and marylittlegoth and then drove down to Vendetta. Within a minute of arriving, I had been slapped (perhaps suggesting that Jamie should fetch a trowel for Mary's makeup was a mistake) This is, as was described by Rae, the perfect club and venue in the wrong town. It is just really unforunate that there were only about a dozen people there, including us. Nevertheless, we had a blast, and the whole night was highlighted by Jamie and Mary attempting to kill me by making me laugh so hard. I think that the lesson here is that once I stop breathing because I am laughing......STOP TELLING ME JOKES!!!!!!! On the way home, we stopped at the services, and engaged in service station car picnic of goodies and fun. Perhaps next time I should probably agree to stay, rather than trying to drive back to Basingstoke, which left me really rather tired.

Wednesday saw a trip to Church of Madness, where I met up with spook_bitch . There was much hilarity. Silly questions. Silly answers. Much laughing. And generally everything that one wants from a pub night. The only downside to this night is that it either has no one dancing, or people dancing, but I am in so deep to the conversation that I don't want to dance. Managed to start negotiations for another guest DJ, which will hopefully come through, and generally had a thoroughly good time.

Friday, I left Basingstoke early in order to meet up with Jamie in Camden. the huge shock with this is the cost of parking there. 20p for 5 minutes. Its fucking ridiculous. But such is the way of things. Talked, wandered, and then sat in the pub lots people watching. I know everyone says it, but Camden is just not as much fun as it was 10 years ago. Fewer people there for the "alternative culture", and more people there looking to look at the freaks. Nevertheless, it was fun.
Left Camden, and headed back to Reading to pick up spook_bitch . A quick drink in the Western, where Mark should, frankly, be murdered for what he was playing, before we headed home. This was a great start to a great weekend. A curry, a couple of bottles of wine, and lots of really good conversation whcih ranged across the whole spectrum. Some good music. Generally a great evening. We then went shopping in Basingstoke the next morning, finished there, and bimbled around Reading until late afternoon. A thoroughly enjoyable day, and one that I hope we can repeat soon.

Lessons Learned.

1...Jamie and Mary - Bad wrong people (in a very good way)
2...Rae may get broken, but I will die first.
3...That drunken people overshare. A lot
4...That none of us can work out whether small tight ones are better than large loose ones (Shimmy's apparently)

Generally, this has been a good month. I'm happy, and that is a lot to do with a certain lady. And that makes me happy.

Well, that was another fun packed week in planet Dave.

Wednesday, Church of Madness. Was nice to see <img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; These were interesting, sinec no one was really listening to either of them. The first one was rather disjoineted, trying to find something someone wanted to hear, so the second was simply play what you wanted.

Friday, was supposed to be going to a funeral in London for my parents neighbour, but, after looking out the window at the snow, was persuaed this was not a good idea. That night, a similar feeling was had about trying to get to london for inferno (4 wheel skid on the ice while stopping may have persuaded me as well). Instead, we went down the pub. Had WAY too many beers, and don't remember the night, although we did coax out a friend who seems to have been having a bad time recently. The fact that he was seemingly back to his old self is a really good thing.

Saturday, and myself and <img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; This was her first time, and a very last minute arranged thing, and so it was nice that it went so smoothly. Having finally found the venue, we went in, and it was a very pleasant surprise to see <img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; Despite this, we decided that what was really needed was low quality, late night fun, and so we left after a couple of hours, for slimelight.
What can be said about sliemlight.......It was quieter than usual. The goth floor was fantastic. The industrial/EBM floor played Enola Gay (wtf?). There was a random girl snogging people at random in the smoking area (I declined, thank fuck). Loki is still a force of nature. It was a good night.

Sunday was pretty much written off. Got home at 7am, got up again at 10.30. Dropped friends home about 1.30. Back in bed by 10pm.

This week is going to be fun. Intrusion Tuesday (1-2 seats left in car if people are local and want a lift), Wednesday is Church of Madness if I can get out of my on call, Friday is Salvation (You know you want to come to this), and then saturday, is the day when there are just too many options, but I know I will be doing something.

Friday saw me drive with Stewart and black666cat to Nekropolis. I got as far as the roundabout out of town before realising that I had no speedo. This was not a fun thing to find out. Nevertheless, finished the drive, and a reasonably fun night was had. Met up with Jamie and Martin Oldgoth, got myself put onto teh Thirteen13 mailing list, and generally sat about and talked rubbish, before a quick burger, dropping Jamie off on the way home.
Saturday, I met up with Rae, and drove up to Camden for the further meeting of Jamie. Realising that the Worlds End was both rammed full of people and playing shite music, we instead drove to Electric Dreams. Where a fucking great time was had. First time we had been here for any of us, and Jamie and I sat and just marvelled at all the music we had not heard in ages. Felt old. Then Jamie had to leave, and the next thing I knew, I had spent 2 hours dancing almost constantly. Great laughs, followed by breakfast baps at the services at 3am.

<rant>This brings me to the point of the rant here though. 2 of my friends are doing that will they won't they thing. He wants to, she probably doesn't, but can't make up her mind. I get stuck in the middle, and keep hearing how he is stressing her out with his attentions. Its impossible to have a conversation with her without him poking, prodding, and otherwise going "look at me, look at me". On saturday, he complained that he was not invited (to her, not me, I might add), despite having no interest in the music, and then proceeded to whinge by text message at her all night, making her miserable, and ending with a declaration by him that he was giving up, I could have her (not my goal), and that if she felt anything for him she should call him when she got in. This kinda put a bit of a sour taste in the mouth for the evening. Now, I am apparently public enemy number one for this. </rant>
Wednesday should see me off to Church of madness, then on call all over the weekend, which puts a crimp in the social plans. Still, next week brings round a whole raft of new gothy adventures.

Hmmmm. Not the best weekend I have ever had by some margin. Friday night started ok, and then the threatened breakup happened. So myself and Angie went our seperate ways. A little overdue, but still not the nicest thing that has happened to me recently. Still, such is the way of these things, it was what we both wanted, etc. etc. blah blah blah.

Saturday, I woke with the mother of all hangovers, and proceeded to do exactly fuck all for most of the day. Complete waste of a day off, in all honesty, but it was probably what I needed to do. Saturday night, Tarl and Rae came over, and there was much merriment and watching of the Dark Crystal. Lessons learned include that Tarl is best controlled with the use of a cold water spray, and that sword fighting with sticks in the front room (the objects, not the person), will lead to someone nearly having their eye taken out (Me.)

Sunday, I decided that I needed to have a clear out. This is something that i always find helps when I get myself into a funk. So, there was much putting of things in boxes, tidying, packing away, and generally converting my room into a place habitable by a human being again. So I can now see my floor. There is no random washing thrown about. The computer cables are tidy. Everything is much more under control again. (If only the same could be said of my feelings). Also spent 4 horus trying to get rid of a f**king root kit from my computer. Got the bugger in the end, but it was hard work.

Tonight, I met up with Adam, Tarl, and Rae at the coffee shop. Coffee was drunk, randomness was talked, and it was all very....civilised. lol. Apart from the talk of penises, buttsecks and zombies (all at once, I might add. lol)

Seems like a load of my friends are having really bad times at the moment. Trying very hard not to be one of them.

Well, so far it has been an interesting period of time....

Friday saw my good self and Stewart running Salvation without a guest DJ for the first time. It was.....an experience. We had fun, and the usual suspects were there, but I think that next time we will either have longer slots or more DJ's. It seemed like every time we finished a set it was time to start another one, and that meant that I never really got time to talk to the people that I wanted to. Everyone seemed to have fun though, so that was a good thing. Our new flyers seemed to go down well (Thanks Rae), and we are looking forward to the next one on the 13th February, where we will welcome guest DJ Angelus from Church of Madness.

Saturday, a slightly flagging Salvation team got our arses into gear and drove up to Luton for the Coven. A really good night, as ever, with much fun had, even if we had to leave early since we were all shattered from the night before. Was nice to catch up with the Luton crowd, including a few that I hadn't seen in a while. Nice to catch up with <img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; Needless to say, this led to a stressful day, with much running about, and a late leave. Then it was off to Basingstoke, for a quick change around, before myself, Rae, <img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; A fun drive, and an even more fun night. There were people walking in and wondering what they had let themselves in for. It was lovely to see Loki, Simon Penguin and others from th Reading crowd up there, and just a pity that we had to leave so early since one of our number became ill. Nevertheless, Rae and I ended up dropping the others off, and then eating Chips in the car park from the burger van at 2.30am. Plus, we got to dance to the song from the labyrinth.

Wednesday, I managed to lose the car. I drove to Southampton to meet Tarl and Rae, parked up, and lost the car park. An hour of walking around in the rain later, we found the most distant, far flung car park ever, and got home, in time to pick up Adam and head up to Church of Madness. Another really good fun night out, although the mood was a little odd. I think that was because of the tiredness.

Today, I got to see Angie for the first time since she got back from the Philipines. And she fell asleep. And I was nearly there. Oh well, always tomorrow.

So, given how much fun I have had, the only thing that I am left wondering, is what is going on. I seem to have developed a bit of a funk (Again) Apparently, I have become more snarky and rude at times. And I seem to have this dissatisfaction with certain aspects of my life that I just can't shift, whatever I do. Not sure where it has come from, but what I do know is that it is not a pleasant sensation. I worry that I know exactly what I need to do to fix it, and yet I worry. It could entirely screw everything up, and I know that the bright future that it might open up is likely to be a pipedream. And yet...... Plus, I worry that I am drinking too much again. And, because of the arse I have made of myself in the past, that worries me an awful lot..

So, back down the pub tomorrow than I think......If people are out.

Finally, an update that isn't about music and or advertising one of my nights (or at least not completely)

Been quiet a few changes since last time i updated. New job (In Southampton), new girlfriend (In Angie), and generally things have been settling down. Salvation (The Basingstoke night) has been running now for about 4 months, and whilst it is not the busiest night in the world, its fun to do, and people seem to enjoy it.

Currently, I am sat at home in a world of sick. Bloody crappy illness has seen me broken for the last 2 days, but seems to be getting a little better. The irony of having cancelled a doctors appointment on wednesday for something unrelated, as I couldn't get the time off work, only to arrive, throw up, and head home sick is not lost on me......

Not sure there is very much more to say, except that I hope to catch up with people a lot more often than I have this year, where my intention to go out to many more clubs was scuppered by a stupid work rota, money and my car. Most of these are now sorted, and will hopefully see a lot of you at the Coven on Saturday. Unless you feel like coming to salvation on Friday that is (hint hint)
