Well, February has turned out to be a bit of a hectic month so far. Intrusion. I really love this club. A car full of us including paul_sticks , Tarl, Rae and Mikey drove up there, and we had a hell of a night. The music was, as ever, really good, and the company equally so. Its one of the few nights where I dance almost constantly, despite the lack of alcohol due to driving. Salvation. (Feb 13th). Turns out that we are 6 months old now, and none of us had noticed. This was our busiest event to date, with loads of people turning up. And also my most stressful. Timing was tight, and I wasn't sure if there was going to be kit there when we arrived, whether it would be set up, etc, so it was nice that everything ran smoothly. Thanks to everybody who came and made it a sucess, especially our guest DJ Angelus. It was especially nice to see so many new faces there. In between DJ'ing, thanking people for coming, and general chaos, I didn't actually get chance to spend much time socialising, but it was fun none the less. Lets hope that even more people can come along to the next one, and make it an even bigger success. We have some really good guest DJ's lined up, and just need to sort out the dates for them. Starting in March with Alex from Church of madness. Saturday, my good self and Rae piled in the car for the ride down to Colchester to go to Vendetta. We met up with Jamie and marylittlegoth and then drove down to Vendetta. Within a minute of arriving, I had been slapped (perhaps suggesting that Jamie should fetch a trowel for Mary's makeup was a mistake) This is, as was described by Rae, the perfect club and venue in the wrong town. It is just really unforunate that there were only about a dozen people there, including us. Nevertheless, we had a blast, and the whole night was highlighted by Jamie and Mary attempting to kill me by making me laugh so hard. I think that the lesson here is that once I stop breathing because I am laughing......STOP TELLING ME JOKES!!!!! !! On the way home, we stopped at the services, and engaged in service station car picnic of goodies and fun. Perhaps next time I should probably agree to stay, rather than trying to drive back to Basingstoke, which left me really rather tired. Wednesday saw a trip to Church of Madness, where I met up with spook_bitch . There was much hilarity. Silly questions. Silly answers. Much laughing. And generally everything that one wants from a pub night. The only downside to this night is that it either has no one dancing, or people dancing, but I am in so deep to the conversation that I don't want to dance. Managed to start negotiations for another guest DJ, which will hopefully come through, and generally had a thoroughly good time. Friday, I left Basingstoke early in order to meet up with Jamie in Camden. the huge shock with this is the cost of parking there. 20p for 5 minutes. Its fucking ridiculous. But such is the way of things. Talked, wandered, and then sat in the pub lots people watching. I know everyone says it, but Camden is just not as much fun as it was 10 years ago. Fewer people there for the "alternative culture", and more people there looking to look at the freaks. Nevertheless, it was fun. Left Camden, and headed back to Reading to pick up spook_bitch . A quick drink in the Western, where Mark should, frankly, be murdered for what he was playing, before we headed home. This was a great start to a great weekend. A curry, a couple of bottles of wine, and lots of really good conversation whcih ranged across the whole spectrum. Some good music. Generally a great evening. We then went shopping in Basingstoke the next morning, finished there, and bimbled around Reading until late afternoon. A thoroughly enjoyable day, and one that I hope we can repeat soon. Lessons Learned. 1...Jamie and Mary - Bad wrong people (in a very good way) 2...Rae may get broken, but I will die first. 3...That drunken people overshare. A lot 4...That none of us can work out whether small tight ones are better than large loose ones (Shimmy's apparently) Generally, this has been a good month. I'm happy, and that is a lot to do with a certain lady. And that makes me happy. Current Location: Home Current Mood: happy Current Music: Labyrinth Soundtrack

Well, that was another fun packed week in planet Dave. Wednesday, Church of Madness. Was nice to see simon_pingu , Angelus, Alex, CJ, rocksocmatt etc. Also DJ'ed a couple of sets. These were interesting, sinec no one was really listening to either of them. The first one was rather disjoineted, trying to find something someone wanted to hear, so the second was simply play what you wanted. Friday, was supposed to be going to a funeral in London for my parents neighbour, but, after looking out the window at the snow, was persuaed this was not a good idea. That night, a similar feeling was had about trying to get to london for inferno (4 wheel skid on the ice while stopping may have persuaded me as well). Instead, we went down the pub. Had WAY too many beers, and don't remember the night, although we did coax out a friend who seems to have been having a bad time recently. The fact that he was seemingly back to his old self is a really good thing. Saturday, and myself and spook_bitch drove down to Dead and Buried. This was her first time, and a very last minute arranged thing, and so it was nice that it went so smoothly. Having finally found the venue, we went in, and it was a very pleasant surprise to see nephilimbabe , bjblade5 , Nick, and postie_chris down there. The music was, as ever, excellent. Despite this, we decided that what was really needed was low quality, late night fun, and so we left after a couple of hours, for slimelight. What can be said about sliemlight.......It was quieter than usual. The goth floor was fantastic. The industrial/EBM floor played Enola Gay (wtf?). There was a random girl snogging people at random in the smoking area (I declined, thank fuck). Loki is still a force of nature. It was a good night. Sunday was pretty much written off. Got home at 7am, got up again at 10.30. Dropped friends home about 1.30. Back in bed by 10pm. This week is going to be fun. Intrusion Tuesday (1-2 seats left in car if people are local and want a lift), Wednesday is Church of Madness if I can get out of my on call, Friday is Salvation (You know you want to come to this), and then saturday, is the day when there are just too many options, but I know I will be doing something. Friday saw me drive with Stewart and black666cat to Nekropolis. I got as far as the roundabout out of town before realising that I had no speedo. This was not a fun thing to find out. Nevertheless, finished the drive, and a reasonably fun night was had. Met up with Jamie and Martin Oldgoth, got myself put onto teh Thirteen13 mailing list, and generally sat about and talked rubbish, before a quick burger, dropping Jamie off on the way home. Saturday, I met up with Rae, and drove up to Camden for the further meeting of Jamie. Realising that the Worlds End was both rammed full of people and playing shite music, we instead drove to Electric Dreams. Where a fucking great time was had. First time we had been here for any of us, and Jamie and I sat and just marvelled at all the music we had not heard in ages. Felt old. Then Jamie had to leave, and the next thing I knew, I had spent 2 hours dancing almost constantly. Great laughs, followed by breakfast baps at the services at 3am. ( Rant Time )Wednesday should see me off to Church of madness, then on call all over the weekend, which puts a crimp in the social plans. Still, next week brings round a whole raft of new gothy adventures.
